President of KSTP
Yong-Bum Kim
It is a great honor to assume the role of President of the Korean Society of Toxicologic Pathology (KSTP) for the year 2025.
Over the past two decades, the KSTP has made remarkable strides in advancing the field of toxicologic pathology through academic collaboration and the dedication of its members. These achievements have been made possible by the unwavering commitment and passion of our esteemed colleagues.
With the rapid advancement of science and technology, cutting-edge innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital pathology, and data analytics are becoming increasingly integrated into toxicologic pathology. This convergence presents both opportunities and challenges for our field while underscoring the growing societal responsibilities of our society. As President of KSTP, I am committed to leading our society forward by focusing on the following key initiatives.
First, I will strive to enhance the visibility and significance of toxicologic pathology while expanding the reach of our society. Encouraging the active participation of young researchers and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration will be instrumental in broadening the scope of our field. In particular, strengthening industry-academia-research partnerships will play a crucial role in contributing to the advancement of the domestic pharmaceutical industry.
Second, I will work to elevate the quality of academic exchange and professional education. By organizing domestic and international conferences and workshops, we will facilitate the sharing of the latest research advancements. Additionally, I will establish a more structured and comprehensive training program for toxicologic pathology professionals, with the goal of promoting standardization and qualitative improvement within the field.
Third, I am committed to integrating advanced technologies to pave the way for the future of toxicologic pathology. By leveraging AI, digital pathology, and data analytics, we can enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency, ultimately driving the development of innovative toxicological evaluation methodologies.
Looking ahead, KSTP will remain steadfast in its mission to advance the field of toxicologic pathology and contribute to public health. I sincerely encourage the active participation and support of all members, and I am confident that, together, we can elevate KSTP to a globally recognized standard of excellence.
Thank you
